Changes to the way you order your prescriptions

We are making changes to way people order repeat prescriptions. If you currently order your repeat prescriptions directly with your pharmacy then from 1 April 2020 you (or a person nominated on your behalf) will have to order in one of the following ways:

Online – all you have to do is register with your GP Practice for online services. Visit your GP Practice website for more information

Through the national NHS App – Download the NHS APP and find out more.

In person at your GP practice – Simply tick the medicines you need on the white, tear-off section of your prescription and drop it into your GP Practice. Some GP Practices have a post box outside their entrance for people to drop off.

If you have trouble using online services and don’t have a family member, friend or carer able to order prescriptions on your behalf, please contact your GP Practice. They can speak to your pharmacy to make sure you continue to receive assistance.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a number of pharmacies have agreed to continue to order repeat prescriptions for you, until 1 September 2020. This is at the discretion of each individual pharmacy.

Pharmacies are experiencing extreme demand, so please check with your pharmacy before you visit them and where possible, please adopt the new ways of ordering your repeat prescriptions listed above.
