Local GP urges people of North Lincolnshire to pick up their repeat prescriptions before Easter

Published on Apr 03, 2019

A local GP is reminding patients of a few simple steps they can take to stay healthy over the Easter four-day weekend. Good Friday (April 19) and Easter Monday (April 22) are bank holidays, so most GP practices will be closed.

NHS North Lincolnshire CCG Chair, Dr Faisel Baig, is urging people to ensure they have the medicines they might need during the bank holiday weekend, including ordering repeat prescriptions. He said: “Many GP practices and community pharmacies will have limited opening hours over the four-day weekend, so it’s important to make sure you have all the medicines you need ahead of time.

“The last thing anybody wants over a long weekend is to run out of medication, so I would urge patients to check their supplies and order their repeat prescriptions before Good Friday.”

The local NHS is also reminding patients of the benefits of using their local pharmacies. Pharmacists are qualified experts in the use of medicines and can give advice on common symptoms, medicines and healthy living.

Some pharmacies are open over the Easter period but there will be changes to usual opening times. Patients can locate their nearest pharmacy by visiting the NHS Choices website.

Pharmacies open during the Easter weekend in North Lincolnshire are detailed below.
