Healthy Lifestyle Service

Who can use the service?

The Healthy Lifestyle Service is available for those aged 16yrs+ who live, work or have a GP practice in North Lincolnshire

What problems can the service help with?

  • maintaining a healthy weight
  • smoking cessation
  • reducing alcohol use
  • becoming more physically active
  • increasing wellbeing including mental and emotional health
  • training around health and wellbeing for those interested in becoming trained as health champions

What problems can’t the service help with?

The Healthy Lifestyle Facilitators are not clinically trained and offer healthy lifestyle advice and support only.

What can people expect when they contact the service?

The service will offer an initial one to one assessment to identify individual’s health and wellbeing goals and either six or twelve week group sessions and continued support as required. One to one support can also be offered.

Will the person incur any cost when using the service?

The service is free

Where does the person attend?

The service is based at Scunthorpe Central but clients can attend sessions at community venues across North Lincolnshire where it is convenient for them.

When can they attend? (opening hours)

The service runs from Mon – Fri 8.00 – 8.00 and 9.00 – 12.00 on Saturdays if required

How do they access the service? E.g drop in, phone?

People can refer themselves to the service or can be referred by another agency or organisation.

Does the service require a formal referral or can the person self-refer?

Either self-referral or by another agency.
